Sharon Richards, LCSW

Counselor and Clinical Supervisor

Sharon Richards holds a master’s degree in Social Work from New York University and has received training from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She has also worked at the Silberman School of Social Work a Hunter College and The Kings County District Attorney’s Office. Sharon practices a gospel-centered integrative approach to counseling and utilizes several treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Narrative Therapy.

Sharon’s goal as a counselor is to encourage and empower people to remember, learn, live, and grow. She works primarily with individuals and families struggling with life transitions, grief, interpersonal conflicts, trauma, aggression, depression and anxiety.

Sharon is very active in her church, loves to travel and spend time with her large extended family. She is an avid reader and watcher of 90’s/2000’s TV, science fiction, and anything about the African diaspora and Caribbean. Sharon is also an ardent admirer of almost all things chocolate.
