Patricia Ireland, M.A.

Counselor

Patricia holds an undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York City and a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She was first trained as a counselor under the direction of Dr. Larry Crabb and Dr. Dan Allender and was deeply influenced by Allender's seminal work, The Wounded Heart, where the trauma of abuse does not have to be the end of the story.

Patricia's hope as a "spiritual companion" is to help others find transformation, restoration, and healing through the redemptive power of understanding our own stories within God's story. One of her goals in working with individuals and couples is to help develop skills, tools, and courage for entering relationships and community more deeply and honestly.

Patricia's interest in relational dynamics is woven through her past career as a financial advisor and is a common thread in both her lay ministry roles and community activism. She was a member of the inaugural Race & Gospel cohort at Redeemer West Side and currently serves on the Racial Justice Advisory Committee. She has been a member at Redeemer since 1992 and leads a community group with her husband Kelly. They parent four children mostly on basketball courts around NYC. Patricia is deeply interested in mind-body connections, the healing power of physical movement and the possibilities of walk-talk therapy. She is also being trained to work with high school students as a college admissions counselor.
