Rebecca Mae, LMFT

Counselor

Rebecca is passionate about holding space for clients navigating the transitions into couplehood, marriage, fertility and pregnancy, and raising kids. As a former elementary and special education teacher and mother of two young children, she understands these seasons firsthand. Her approach is warm, attuned, and collaborative, drawing from relational and systemic therapy while incorporating somatic awareness and mindfulness. She works with clients to explore patterns that keep them stuck, guiding them toward a balance of deeper awareness and practical changes. She works with individuals, couples, and families with young children facing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, issues stemming from one's family of origin, and life transitions.

Rebecca received her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling and her Master's in Childhood Special and General Education from Bank Street College of Education. She has completed Level 1 & 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, advanced training in perinatal mental health and Emotion Focused Individual Therapy, and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator.

Born in New York but raised in South America by missionary parents, Rebecca brings a third culture perspective and deep curiosity about people's varied experiences of life and relationships. She values quality time with her family, building creative projects with her kids, and exploring the NY food scene with her husband. They attend church together in Long Island City and reside in Long Island.
